Mini Hurricanes Skills Program 5 to 8 years
Next program begins 30th July until 17 September
Mini Hurricanes is the perfect introduction to basketball for our youngest players. Designed for children aged 5–8 years, the program focuses on developing fundamental motor skills while introducing the core elements of the game, including dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork.
Delivered in a fun, supportive, and inclusive environment, Mini Hurricanes uses engaging game-based activities rather than traditional drills, helping children build confidence, coordination, and a love for basketball on a modified court suited to their age and ability.
Head Coach – Mia Kennedy (BQ Accredited & Hurricanes Representative Coach & player), also supported by U16 & 18 Hurricanes Boys & Girls Representative Players.
WHEN: Delivered in term blocks (8 weeks) every Thursday afternoon 4:15 – 5:00pm at Bendigo Bank Stadium.
TERM DATES: 30th July – 17th September 2026
WHAT TO WEAR: A FREE playing kit will be issued within the first few weeks of the program, please ensure player wear basketball shoes or appropriate sneakers to the sessions.
WHAT TO BRING: Please encourage players to bring a water bottle. We provide basketball’s and equipment.
COST: $125 per 8 week term (Play On Sports Vouchers can be redeemed at checkout)
Next Round QLD Play On Sports Vouchers ($200) will be redeemable at the checkout – next round is in July 2026 – visit the QLD Government website here.
Players will receive a FREE Uniform Kit, proudly sponsored by Big Boss Collectables & OG Acai Shack – 1 Uniform issued to a player per year (Summer Season 2026-Winter Season 2027).
