Are you looking for a fun, safe, and exciting sport for your child? Look no further than Hervey Bay Basketball! Played indoors, our competition means no rain delays, no sunburn – just pure basketball action, all year round!

We offer both competitive leagues and fun, developmental leagues for boys and girls from Under 10s to Under 19s, ensuring every player has the opportunity to develop their skills, build confidence, and enjoy the game at their level. Due to our growth in our junior basketball competition, we now offer individual girls and boys competition’s in the various age groups.

At Hervey Bay Basketball, we pride ourselves on creating an inclusive, family-friendly, and supportive environment where kids can have fun, stay active, and make lifelong friends. Whether your child is just starting out or ready for serious competition, there’s a place for them here.

📅 Summer Season Dates (Junior)
• Club Grading/Training Week – Monday 13th – Friday 17th July 2026
• Grading Games – Monday 20th – Friday 25th July 2026
• 12 x Competition Rounds – 27th July – 28th October 2026
• Semi Finals – 2nd to 4th November 2026
• Preliminary Finals – 9th to 11th November 2026
• Finals Training Week/Make-up Game Provision – 16-18 November 2026
• Grand Finals – Saturday 21 November 2026

💳 Season Player Fees
Fees will vary for new and returning players. Fees are made up of the following amounts:
BQ Registration: $52.06 (Insurance & BQ levies) – Paid once per year
HBBA Association & Game/Training Fees: $252.94
Club Fee: $10 (Clubs to host presentation, trophies, and training equipment)
Additional Fees apply:
Junior playing up in an older Age Group or Senior Competition: $50 + $10 Club Fee

All players must pay their registration fee prior to playing Competition Rounds.
You can pay upfront with Direct Debit or Credit Card, we also offer fortnightly payment plan between 2 July to 20 August – money deducted every 2nd Thursday.
**Weekly checks for unfinancial players occur – if found to be unfinancial you will not be allowed to play until rectified.

📍 Game Venues (Indoor Courts)
Basketball is played indoors – you are protected from the rain, wind and sun all year round!
• Bendigo Bank Stadium – Fraser Coast Sports Precinct, Woods Road, Nikenbah
• Hervey Bay High School – Main Sports Gym on Beach Road, Pialba (please park outside of the school grounds).

🙋‍♂️ New to Basketball & Want to Join a Team?
• Juniors – Contact a club directly to express your interest or attend our sign-on day (please see our Facebook page for dates) at Bendigo Bank Stadium
• All skills are welcome, our competitions are designed to balance skills for maximum enjoyment and fitness
• Juniors are required to attend a Grading Session to find the right team (if not attending they will be placed in a Div 2 team) Dates announced on HBBA Facebook Page
• Once placed in a team, you will register with your club – uniforms and training information is provided by your club/coach.
