Hervey Bay Basketball Season

2026 will bring a new era of Basketball to Hervey Bay

The 2026 Hervey Bay Basketball Competition will run as two seasons – Winter & Summer Season. The Winter Season will commence Early March (junior grading starting mid February) and finish Early July. The Summer Season will commence August and finish in November. 2026 Dates are yet to be confirmed – however to be the first in the know please fill out our Player Expression of Interest form (new & existing players).

Each season generally consists of:

  • 2 Weeks of Grading Rounds (no ladder points – allows teams to grade into a suitable division)
  • 10-12 Weeks of Game Rounds (no games over school holidays)
  • Semi Final Round (Top 4 team play off)
  • Preliminary Final Round
  • Grand Finals (generally played on a Sunday in July/November)

Games Venues & Days of Play

Where we Play?
Games are played indoors across 2 venues – Hervey Bay High School, Urangan State High School & our soon to be opened Bendigo Bank Stadium at the Sports precinct..

What days do we play games?
We are currently reviewing our game days to support new members and ensure players can experience equitable playing time at our new stadium.
Junior Games are currently played on Wednesday & Friday evenings, but this may extend to Monday, Tuesday & Saturday.
Seniors generally play Thursdays – but this may expand to another day in the week.

Draws are published on the Basketball Connect App at the start of the season.

2026 Game Fees are yet to be confirmed
BQ Registration: TBA (Insurance & BQ levies) – Paid every year due (does not roll over each year)
HBBA Registration: TBA (Association Fees, Officials)
Game Fees: TBA (Court Hire – Game & Trainings)
Club Fee: TBA (Clubs to host presentation, trophies, equipment)
Additional Fees apply:
Approved Junior playing up in the Senior Competition: TBA

Players must pay their registration fee prior to playing. You can pay upfront with Direct Debit or Credit Card, we also offer a 4 part payment plan.

Fair Play Vouchers
We are a QLD Government fair play voucher provider. At registration you can process your voucher.

Joining a Team
To join a team, please fill out our Player Expression of Interest form – we will send you further information to assist you joining a team for our junior and senior leagues for the 2026 Season.
