Hervey Bay Basketball Season
2026 will bring a new era of Basketball to Hervey Bay
The 2026 Hervey Bay Basketball Competition runs as two seasons – Winter (Late Feb to June) & Summer (July to December) Season. Here is the information for our Winter Season commencing shortly:
📅 Season Dates (Junior & Senior)
• Competition Rounds – 2 March to 5 June 2026
• Semi & Preliminary Finals – 8 to 19 June 2026
• Grand Finals – Sunday 21 June 2026
Draws are published on the Basketball Connect App at the start of the season.

• Contact a club directly to express your interest
• Joining solo – our clubs will find you a team (junior or senior)
• All skills are welcome, our competitions are designed to balance skills for maximum enjoyment and fitness
• Attend a Junior Grading Session to find the right team
• Once placed in a team, you will register with your club and receive uniform and training information
🧒 Junior Grading Sessions (Free Come & Try) U12-U18
• Clubs Player Grading – From 16 February 2026
• HBBA Team Grading Round – From 23 February 2026
💳 Winter Season Player Fees
• $315 per player (includes BQ fee of $52.06 – charged once per year) – reduced fee in 2nd season for returning members.
• +$50 if regularly playing up in a junior or senior competition
• QLD Play On Vouchers accepted
• Instalment Plan available: $150 upfront + 4 equal fortnightly payments on 27/2, 13/3, 27/3, 10/4.
Fee Breakdown
BQ Registration: $52.06 (Insurance & BQ levies) – Paid every year at time of registration
HBBA Association & Games Fees: $252.94
Club Fee: $10 (Clubs to host presentation, trophies, and training equipment)
Additional Fees apply:
Approved Junior playing up in an older Age Group or Senior Competition: $50
Players must pay their registration fee prior to playing Competition Rounds. You can pay upfront with Direct Debit or Credit Card, we also offer a 4 part payment plan.
📍 Game Venues (Indoor Courts)
Basketball is played indoors – you are protected from the rain, wind and sun all year round! We currently play at school venues, and will be moving 60% of our games into our new stadium in Term 2.
