Hervey Bay Basketball Season

2025 Season Starts 5th March to 2nd November

The 2025 Hervey Bay Basketball Competition will run as one full season from March to November. The season will consist of:

• 2 Weeks of Grading Rounds (no ladder points – allows teams to grade into a suitable division)
• 21 Weeks of Game Rounds (no games over school holidays, and 2 x mid season week breaks due to court unavailability)
• Semi Final Round | 15th-17th October (proposed)
• Preliminary Final Round | 22nd – 24th October (proposed)
• Grand Finals | Sunday 2nd November (proposed)

Games Venues & Days of Play
Games are played indoors at Hervey Bay High School and PCYC Basketball Stadium.
Junior Games are played on Wednesday & Friday evenings.
Senior Games are played on Thursday evenings.
Draws are published on the Basketball Connect App at the start of the season.

2025 Game Fees are $495 for season
BQ Registration: $48.22 (Insurance & BQ levies)
HBBA Registration: $126.78 (Association Fees, Officials)
Game Fees: $300 (Court Hire – Game & Trainings)
Club Fee: $20 (Clubs to host presentation, trophies, equipment)
Additional Fees apply:
Approved Junior playing up in the Senior Competition: $75

Players must pay their registration fee prior to playing. You can pay upfront with Direct Debit or Credit Card, we also offer a 4 part payment plan.
Payment Plan for Registration Fees
1st Payment $255.00 | Due on Registration (must be paid before season starts)
Followed by 3 Split Payments of $80
2nd Payment due by 31st March
3rd Payment due by 19th May
3rd Payment due by 16th June

Joining a Team
To join basketball you can enquire directly through one of our Basketball Clubs by email or through their Facebook page. Our clubs are run by wonderful volunteers (who have day jobs) so they will reply as quickly as they can. We suggest contacting each club as teams do fill up quickly.

Clubs are responsible for team trainings, providing coaches, uniforms for players and end of year presentations. Our clubs are always seeking volunteers to support them, particularly coaches for junior teams. Hervey Bay Basketball Association supports the clubs by providing financial incentive and training support to coaches of junior teams – we promise, you don’t have to be a basketball expert to coach the game! Please let your club if you can assist.
